The season: autumn

The season: autumn

This is our fourth and final post, and we wanted to dedicate it to the season we are experiencing right now: autumn.
To tell the truth, we don’t really have a favourite season; we love to look for the good and the beautiful in every time of the year. Put simply, we are eternal optimists.
That said, we could never remain indifferent to the time when summer, with its heat and bright colours, comes to an end, making way for a diffuse, kinder light, that softens outlines and highlights images.
Autumn is just too beautiful to be ignored.

The season: autumn

It is a painter’s palette of a thousand colours; on clear days, autumn regales us with shades of colour that are both enchanting and uplifting, capable of bewitching even the most distracted adult in the middle of a busy day. Just before the cold winter sets in, everything is transformed as nature puts on its finest show.

In the days of autumn, bright and clear, those where the sky is blue and the air is already crisp, we love to go outside with our camera to capture some of the amazing colours; we can never get enough, always searching for a more beautiful hue.
We are hardly ever disappointed with these shots, as every one manages to capture a feeling or perspective that we want to keep hold of.

The season: autumn

Autumn is also a generous season, providing us with an abundance of fruit and vegetables, each one rich with colour and flavour: pumpkins (a big favourite), mushrooms, chestnuts and cabbages, but to name a few; one after another, autumn recipes land on our table, with never enough time to repeat the ones we like the most, nor to ever get to the end of the long list of the new ones to try.

The season: autumn

It’s a time of year when comfort food really comes into its own; food that is not only a skilful recipe or mix of flavours, but also a dish that warms the heart.

For us, autumn is all about this fusion of colours and emotions, suggestive recipes, a desire to start afresh and plan something big.

And let’s not forget that, when the colours begin to wash away, when the fog creeps up and blurs the edges, when everything starts to shut down for the winter sleep, that’s when we reach the period just before Christmas.
Do we really need to point out how much we love that as well?

The season: autumn

As we mentioned at the beginning, this is our last post. We have really enjoyed being here on these pages; Manfrotto welcomed us and made us feel truly at home, thus we are sad to be leaving.

One last piece of advice to all those of you who, like us, are passionate about photography: continue to observe and capture the world around you through your lens, let your curiosity carry you always one step further, let your imagination be your guide.
