In the last installment I talked about finding beauty in the process of making. For this one, I selected a few of my favorite photos for how to present food shots that would capture the viewer’s attention.

Sure, I’ve taken plenty of photographs, styled and staged in a more orthodox still-shot-of-way. But one of my favorite ways that I don’t utilize enough is like the next two photographas that are shot in a more lifestyle way. I love the movement it indicates.

On the flipside, the next few images are more about objectifying the food to pull the viewer out of norm of how food is usually presented. It may not show food at its best composition, but it’s a composition that immediately captures the viewer and hopefully cause them to linger a bit longer on the food , the image and everything in between.

Whether or not I accomplished that, I’m not sure, but I do know, this style that I’ve termed “Smashed Food” is one of my favorites way’s to photograph food.
