A Yearly Interview

By some stroke of cosmic sense of humour, all 3 of my children have birthdays within the same week. Amidst the week of partying, cake and far too many presents, celebrating the little people can get lost amongst the chaos. This year, we decided to conduct an interview with each of the children to accompany their yearly photoshoot.  We’d previously done them for my oldest at the start of each school year. They have proven to be a wonderful snapshot of the child right now.

We always start with a standard set of questions. As the kids get older, they are more able to answer more complex questions, but as their attention span is short, we try and keep it simple.
And so I bring you, the World According to Ellis, Georgia and Theo.

While I use these on my personal blog, Slugs on the Refrigerator, they would also make a fantastic page in an album or scrapbook and couldn’t be easier to do. I start with a photo, taken with plenty of space around it. Sometimes these are photos I have set up precisely for this purpose, at others it may just be a recent one that fits the bill.

I then use Photoshop to add text and images to the photo.  You don’t need photoshop though, the free PicMonkey is easy to use as well and GIMP is an open source alterantive to Photoshop.  If you are wanting to use custom fonts or clip art, you will need to use photoshop or its alternatives.
