Understanding iPhone Photography Distance

The iPhone allows you to render your photos with a sense of distance to the photographic subject.

Fixed focal-length lenses used on the iPhones allow you to enjoy introducing a sense of distance in your photos, and it lets you do it more naturally. There are some photos that can only be taken with an iPhone.

We tend to think that fixed focal-length lenses are difficult to use with single lens cameras, but with the iPhone, users can get that sense of distance naturally– by walking around, looking at and touching things. The starting point for most people’s iPhoneography is simply taking the iPhone in hand on a stroll.
iPhoneography is about first walking around and enjoying taking things in with the eyes. iPhoneography provides these opportunities aplenty.

The time when getting a sense of distance is most sensitive is when taking photos of people. iPhone allows you to reduce this distance. You may feel some resistance to walking around and taking photos with SLRs, however, iPhones succeed in mitigating this.
The same applies to animals. The iPhone allows you to press the shutter at the animal’s eye level while you are positioning yourself for the photo . This sense of distance gives birth to a sense of presence , and brings out the charm of the photo graphic subject to the maximum.

Taking photos from children’s perspective and with children’s sense of distance is also important.
For the field of vision of adults, taking photos with a sense of distance increases the size of the background, which often ends up being the ground. By taking photos with a sense of distance from children’s point of view, the sense of presence is enhanced, and the atmosphere of the surroundings of the place can better be expressed.

In my iPhoneography I adjust the contrast to achieve a sense of distance in my pictures.
At these times, the Camera+ application is the cat’s meow. The application has a “scene” function that allows you to adjust the contrast.
The “DRAMA” processing with the Snapseed application is recommended for up close photos as it allows you to emphasize the sense of distance.
And finally, for blurring the background of your photos, I recommend the Tadaa SLR application.
And after experimenting with getting photos with a sense of distance, it’s also fun playing around with various apps to achieve this. This is iPhoneography’s strong point.
